Join our team to support our work with people seeking asylum
Story
Are you ready to get active for a good cause? Uniting in Victoria and Tasmania is bringing together a team of people to participate in this year’s Melbourne Marathon Festival. On Sunday 14 October 2018 we'll run/walk/skip together to support our work with people seeking asylum.
We support the most vulnerable people who are seeking asylum in our community; those awaiting the outcomes of their claims for protection. Many have travelled great distances and lived with uncertainty for long periods of time.
We stand with people seeking asylum and offer them rent-free accommodation, a living allowance, assistance with utilities, material aid and support groups.
Whether walking 3km with your friends, completing your first 5km run or doing the full 42.2km Marathon, don’t miss this chance to get outside, get active, and go the extra mile for an important cause. Then get ready to finish on the hallowed turf inside the MCG and put that medal round your neck!
Don't forget: Register for either the 3km walk, or run 5km, 10km, 21.1km or the full marathon! Enter at www.melbournemarathon.com.au and then check out the Fundraising Tips button on your own fundraising page to get off to a flying start! #unitinggetsactive

Uniting Vic Tas
Uniting is the community services organisation of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania.
We work to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.
We’re about building capacity and confidence in children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people newly arrived.
We work with people at risk of, or experiencing financial crisis, homelessness, mental illness or problems with alcohol and other drugs, by empowering them with the support they need to succeed.
