Story
Hi friend!
So I was meant to be doing a 10km run next weekend as part of the Melbourne Marathon, but for a number of reasons, I'm not able to do it. Instead, I'll be running 10km on a treadmill at my gym.
Why am I still bothering to run the 10kms? Because I'm raising money for Fair Agenda and their campaign for Queenslanders right to abortion care.
Right now in Queensland abortion is still in the Criminal Code. These archaic abortion laws mean Queenslanders in need are frequently denied access to terminations at public hospitals. And they increase the distress, danger and financial burden of Queenslanders who need to terminate their pregnancy.
With a historic vote due in the next couple of weeks Fair Agenda need all the money they can get to get this campaign over the line. And it's so important that not is there a majority vote in support of the pro-choice legislation, but that it's an overwhelming majority. As abortion is still in the criminal code in NSW, and if they see that this is a close vote NSW will be less likely to introduce their own pro-choice legislation.
I'm so grateful for your support of my run, and of Fair Agenda and this vital campaign!
Thanks so much!
Tash

Activity
Fair Agenda Ltd
Fair Agenda is a community of 37,000 Australians campaigning for a fair and equal future for women.
We are an independent organisation made up of Australians from all backgrounds and walks of life, who come together to take action on issues affecting women.
Fair Agenda members take action on issues that are important to them. Whether calling for increased representation of women in decision making roles, championing measures to address gendered violence, or campaigning to protect reproductive rights - our movement exists to demand better from our political representatives, business leaders, peers and media.
